Within the public relations industry, it is essential to have prior experience before entering the field. Thankfully, I was granted the opportunity to begin my involvement as an intern for Clapp Communications in the summer before starting my senior year at Towson University.

I knew that I wanted to have an internship for the summer, so I began researching public relations firms in the area. After positive feedback from my professors, advisors, and those already currently in the field about the company, Clapp Communications was at the top of my list.

Shortly after I applied, I was contacted to come in for an interview. Although nervous, I was confident in myself and my qualifications for the internship. A few weeks later, I was fortunate enough to be offered the position as summer 2017 intern.

Throughout my experience, I have learned so much about the ins and outs of the public relations/marketing industry. Whether it be managing social media, writing press releases, media outreach and everything in-between, I have received incredible hands-on experience that will carry me through the rest of my career.

I could not have asked for a better team of women to guide and support me in my time at the company. My supervisor, Sarah, as well as the rest of the Clapp Communications team were unbelievably helpful and always made sure that I was learning and benefiting from my duties.

I am so lucky to have been a part of such a bright, passionate, and hardworking team at Clapp Communications. In my intern experience, I have learned more valuable skills than any classroom has taught me and for that I am so grateful.

I have only reassured myself and became more excited about starting a career within the public relations/ marketing industry thanks to Clapp Communications.

Thank you ladies for a brilliant summer!
